Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre and School
Our Mission:
To provide high quality dance instruction that educates the student athlete in the highest standards of dance performance while also providing accessibility and outreach to the community, and preserve historic dance styles and teach these styles to the next generation of dancers.
Dance Fun
Dance FUN(damentals) 1, 2, & 3 is for ages 3, 4, & 5, respectively. It provides an excellent foundation for the study of all forms of dance.
Ballet & Pointe
Covering everything from ballet principles to advanced ballet partnering skills, there are classes for children (6+) through adult.
Modern
An expressive form of dance, modern 1 serves children ages 8+ with no dance experience, while modern 2 - 5 are based on abilities.
Tap & Jazz
These high-energy dance classes serve beginning dancers starting at age 6 all the way through advanced levels based on ability.
Theatrical
This style of dance focuses on dance that tells a story, such as might be seen in Broadway productions.
Irish Dance
Foundational skills are introduced in sean nos, ceili, and social dancing. Reel, hornpipe, and social dance tunes are used in class. Live musician accompaniment is present whenever possible, in order for dancers to experience the connection between the musician and the dancer, both in sean nos and ceili dancing.
Boys Ballet
A separate class for male students interested in ballet. Classes are available for children as well as teens and adults. Male specific ballet classes are tuition free thanks to a generous grant from Arts Huntsville.
Teen/Adult Ballet
Beginner & advanced classes are offered for teens (12+) and adults that are looking to start or resume dance without younger students.
Additional Classes
From Music and Movement classes for our youngest dancers, to all levels of teen/adult classes, there is certain to be an option for you at AYBT. Learn something new & have fun!
